Getting Ready For Fall While Listening To Christmas Music

So here I am cleaning up the kids rooms, vacuuming all the floors, mopping them, and listening to Christmas music. I know-I know! It isn’t officially Fall yet and I’m listening to Christmas music? Gasp, how can I ever?! LOL! Because Christmas music is so cheerful and it gets me going with the beat. Wouldn’t you agree?

LOL! Now that I said that out loud I imagined myself as this crazy cleaning lady listening to Christmas music as i stroke the mop back and forth listening to the beat of “Here Comes Santa Clause.”

Ok, image be gone! Ha ha ha.

Back to talking about getting ready for the Fall.

Cooler weather is coming and the coziness of home decor starts to come out more. What comes with it is Fall cleaning, so get ready for me to start talking about it. Now that the kids will be starting school later this week I will have more time to write. I know I’ve been a bit neglectful with my blog, but my kids are very important to me and my time belongs to them when they are around. When I say blog I really mean myself because this blog is for me. I love to talk to you and just knowing that someone reads what I write makes me the happiest person ever!

Just yesterday I got to do a little something for myself, which is, shopping! I got a couple of Fall signs and a pillow for my bare living room couch. I am loving it. What’s next on my shopping list is this cozy knitted blanket I saw at the store, a few mums, some more Fall plants, apples, and pumpkins! Yeah!

This lady is ready to say goodbye to Summer and welcome Fall with open arms. Just imagine a little tear running down my cheeks as I wave goodbye to Summer and say a little whisper, “I’ll miss you. See you next year.”

Ok. I got to get back to mopping. I really want to continue to write, but I have to finish my chores. I’ll be back to talk more about Fall and how I clean and keep organized in the kids’ rooms.

  1. I agree with you; there’s something cozy about Fall with all of it’s beautiful colors, textures and scents! Who doesn’t love the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin or crisp apple and pear! I’m thankful that I live in New England where we have 4 beautiful seasons to enjoy and to make life interesting and, yes, sometimes challenging, especially wintertime! But don’t you just love that first delicate snowfall with the tiny little flakes that disappear even before they hit the ground? When summer comes to an end like this, I’m ready for the next season and all it brings. The days begin to shorten making it a bit easier to go to bed a little earlier, too. Sometimes it makes me feel like the bears and other animals that prepare for the winter, then hunker down in their cozy dens to wait it out until Spring comes again. And I don’t really mind winter either because it’s a time that forces us to slow down a bit, too. After all, without Winter, we wouldn’t have Spring, right??!!
